Community
What is Rugby is all about? It is about community and bringing us all together. It’s about empowering those around us. It’s about leaving it all on the pitch walking away a better version of yourself knowing you gave it your all. We either win or we learn, we never lose. Actually you can lose you can lose, the second you think there is nothing left to learn. You’re either confident or your cocky you cannot be both. Being confident is being willing to grow knowing you do not know everything yet you have the whole world to learn from and you soak in every bit that you can. Being cocky you are now close minded and believe you know it all, no one can make you better. You already know everything and you’re already the best. Now I do not believe in being cocky, but I firmly believe in being confident. One of my main goals as a coach is to make you feel better about yourself to empower you to help you find your true beauty, your true passions, why you come to practice every day why you get on that Rugby pitch and why you want to be a part of our Rugby community I hope you are finding your reasons to embrace being an Eagle and finding some true value in everything that we do that you can apply to the rest of your life to your next steps your next journey, your career, your future family, the biggest, and best takeaway you can have is to continue to be open minded to learn. Let’s not forget about a very, very important word that we do not talk enough about and that is forgiveness first, every value we talk about doesn’t just apply to players. It applies to us as coaches too and every day we leave practice I can promise you we’re thinking about what we could’ve done better what else we want to give or try to prepare our players to learn more. We evaluate how practice went what skills were applying how can we find two in those and we’re not thinking about them just as an overall group we are thinking about each and every one of you and how we can reach you to bring you up.
Everyone makes mistakes coaches included the second. If you just make a blanket decision to not forgive someone, it’s probably hindering you more than it may be hindering that person you’re gonna carry the weight of that around with you and that is not a burden I want anyone to carry. Forgiveness is not easy. It doesn’t come overnight. It takes time and it takes communication. Whatever the issue is with your teammates with family with coaches. I encourage you to talk through it to communicate express how you’re feeling so that you guys can get through it forgive each other and move on better and stronger together. I know that that’s a wide topic of discussion but forgiveness has been a word that’s been on my heart that I think we need to talk more about sometimes. I’m forever grateful for this club turning into everything that it has become and I hope each and every one of you continue to love and cherish this love the way I have continued to love it.
This dove into more than just our rugby community however I think it is a prime example of how rugby is much more than just a sport.
